Controlling perennial weeds

• Failure to remove all perennial rhizomes and runners when preparing your garden will assure you are plagued continually with those weeds.
• Shallow weeding with the 2-way hoe will not kill perennial weeds. Therefore digging, pulling, and cutting them out will be required.
• If the problem is too bad to endure, consider covering the soil with black plastic to inhibit weeds’ growth, or as a last resort use an herbicide.
